Morgan E. Decker: Leading Dermatologic Surgeon

Morgan E. Decker, MD, MS, FAAD, has extensive expertise in surgical, cosmetic, and general dermatology, with a particular interest in the treatment of skin cancers and facial reconstruction. Dr. Decker graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Science-Business. Subsequently, she went on to earn a Master of Science in Medical Science with an emphasis in Clinical Research from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. She then received her medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, where she was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Her academic and clinical achievements were further recognized with the Board of Governors Merit Scholarship, the Sinai Medical Staff Foundation Endowed Scholarship, and the Janet Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation, which is presented to women who graduate in the top ten percent of their medical school class.

Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Decker completed her medical internship at Kettering Health. She then relocated to Chicago for her dermatology residency at Rush University Medical Center, which consistently ranks as one of the nation’s top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. During her post-graduate training, she was honored as an L’Oréal USA educational grant recipient, received the Outstanding Resident Mentor Award, and was selected to serve as the resident cosmetics chair and chief resident. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Decker gained advanced training in skin cancer treatment and facial reconstructive surgery through her fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at Rush University Medical Center.

Dr. Decker has presented at both regional and national dermatology conferences and has published numerous papers and textbook chapters on surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

She is excited to finally be coming home and looks forward to caring for a patient population that is near and dear to her heart. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, walks along Lake St. Clair (with UPF protective clothing and a wide-brimmed hat, of course), gardening, and playing tennis.
